Valentine's tea party

We love inviting friends over to decorate sugar cookies with us around Valentine's Day every year. This year was fun because our little set up was very reminiscent of the first year we hosted it in our little Malaga apartment. Apparently Ellie was very excited to help plan for it and bake with me this year because many adults we know came up to me to ask about how Ellie's tea party went afterward. She had gone around telling anyone and everyone who would listen all about it.
I love those little duo. I hope they always stay so close.
Same picture we took at our first Valentine sweets party three years ago.
Everything Valentine's is just so pretty
Big chocolate Oreo lips we made that were quickly devoured
Decorate two, eat one and repeat was Kenny's philosophy.
Bruce pretty much slept through the party, but was excited to find a table full of sugar when he woke up
The kids invited Felix and Carolina over who are a perfect brother sister match up for them. They all four play so well together.
Carolina was in heaven, as she repeatedly told us.

Valentine cookie decorating party

We decided to throw together a last minute Valentine's Day Cookie decorating party this year. Definitely didn't put as much effort into it as last year, but it turned out cute and the kids loved it. We all had sugar highs for days to come, so mission successful.

Valentine's Picnic

We wanted to do something special together as a family for Valentine's dinner so a picnic it was. We planned an exquisite menu, packed up our goodies, Joey's old six string and headed out to Kenneth Meyers Park to plant ourselves with a lovely bayside view. The kids loved the excitement of it all and what a big deal it was. They were such awesome helpers preparing with me all day. The best part was Joey serenading us with love songs and improvising to make it fun with our names.

Valentine's sugar cookie party

We decided to host a Valentine's Day cookie decorating party for the kids and a couple of their friends on Saturday. Afterall, what's Valentine's without a few sugar cookies to share?! The kids were SO excited to invite their friends over and loved setting up the party. Ellie was a little confused about why grandma didn't come to town for this party since grandma always seems to be around for our fun parties. Nevertheless, we carried on and the kids all loved it! They actually sat and decorated cookies for a lot longer than I thought they would. The best part about outdoor parties all year long?...easy peasy clean up and the sprinkles stay outside.
